Orientation Tours Introductory tours for freshman are offered during the last two weeks of September and throughout the month of October. This walking tour covers general information about the Main Library and the services it offers, basic instruction about the OPAC - our online catalogue, and a brief introduction to online journals and databases. Reservations are made at the first desk of the Reference Department. Groups meet in the ground floor lobby opposite the Circulation Desk.
The Library also offers Course Related Tours throughout the academic year. Students obtain research help on particular subjects. Guides to specialized resources, search tips, bibliographic references, and advice on Internet Resources are provided. Faculty should make their reservations at least two weeks before the desired date. To schedule a class please call the Reference Department on 2340-2050.
Information Literacy Students are taught advanced searching skills with particular reference to specialized databases in their subject areas, the library's e-journal packages, and advice on the evaluation of information on the Web.
