In addition to the research pursued by individual members, the Institute has various ongoing research projects, most of which are of an interdisciplinary nature, involving collaborations with, among others, the Department of Artificial Intelligence. Much of our research currently focusses on the construction of electronic resources for the Maltese language. These resources either target user communities such as the hearing-impaired, or function as tools to facilitate empirical and computational research on Maltese.
