Ray Fabri is Associate Professor in Linguistics and Chairman of the Institute of Linguistics. He is the author of a book on Grammatical Agreement in Maltese (1993), as well as a number of papers dealing with various morphosyntactic aspects of Maltese, including definiteness marking, word order and the tense/ aspect system, among others.
Together with Michael Rosner, from the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence of the University of Malta, he currently leads the MLRS (Maltese Language Resource Server) project, which aims to develop an electronic lexicon and a corpus of Maltese. He is also a member of the currently constituted National Council for the Maltese Language and head a committee within the Council that focuses on Maltese and IT.
