| DESCRIPTION | Prerequisites: LIN2010 and all first and second year compulsory units in Linguistics The student is advised to select a topic in consultation with a lecturer who is a specialist in the subject area. A proposal is submitted by the end of the second year to enable the student to complete a first draft of the literature review and carry out the required fieldwork prior to the beginning of the final year of studies. |

| ADDITIONAL NOTES | **September Assessment Session: Students who fail to obtain an overall pass mark will be re-examined in the Dissertation. However, the resit availability for the Oral Examination is at the discretion of the Board of Examiners. | ||||||||
