High tech Maltese Language Learning at the Centre for Literacy

The Centre for Literacy of the University of Malta is involved in two EU projects which will bring the new technologies to Maltese Language Learning.

With Europodians you can easily download Maltese language interactive video and audio materials and take them along on your ipod, mp3 player, mobile phone or handheld console. You can also create your own lessons and share them with other learners.

The Tool for Online and Offline Language Learning (TOOL) project is creating online interactive language courses in five European languages including Maltese.

The Centre for Literacy at the University of Malta was involved also in creating SISIEN, the multimedia pack for the teaching of Maltese to adults.

Professor Charles L. Mifsud, the Director of the Centre for Literacy, stated that, “it is of utmost importance that Maltese Language Learning makes use of the most advanced technologies.  It is in this way we can ensure that the Maltese Language continues to be relevant to the digital generation!”
