DEPARTMENT Media and Communications

DESCRIPTION This unit addresses the gap between the application of digital tools used in art and design and visual thinking. By focusing mainly on the study of two dimensional form and space, it re-embraces the Bauhaus tradition and the pioneering work of the great formal design educators. The sessions are designed to guide students in applying important artistic, design and visual communication concepts using contemporary digital media.

The study-unit tackles the primary elements of visual language and its applications as employed in an increasingly connected world touching on a variety of fields which feed on visual communication. Work ranges from the pure analysis and conception of graphic/abstract form to the creation of such communication vehicles as posters, packaging and websites.
