MEDAC Chairman awarded honorary doctorate

Dr. Joe Borg, MEDAC Chairman was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Malta on December 2nd 2016. The honorary doctorate was awarded to Dr. Borg in recognition of his leadership during the negotiations leading to Malta's accession to the European Union and as the first Maltese member of the European Commission. Dr. Mark Harwood delivered the oration while MEDAC Director Professor Stephen Calleya was the sponsor. All MEDAC staff, students and alumni congratulate Dr. Borg on this prestigious and well-deserved recognition as Malta assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Professor Richard Rubenstein awarded honorary doctorate

Professor Richard Rubenstein was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Malta on December 2nd 2016. Professor Rubenstein is the  USA Course Coordinator of the joint degree programme in Conflict Resolution and Mediterranean Security awarded through the collaboration between MEDAC and the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Dr. Omar Grech delivered the oration highlighting Professor Rubenstein's academic reputation and his contribution to the University of Malta. Professor Kevin Aquilina was the sponsor. MEDAC is delighted that the University of Malta recognised Professor Rubentsein's brilliant contribution to academia and the University.
