Log Linear Models:
- Chi square test for independence
- Two way log linear models
- Three way log linear models

Study-Unit Aims:

This study-unit has four aims:
- The first aim is to review a number of statistical tests. Each test can be used to draw a specific conclusion when studying specific data sets. Hence, choosing the ideal statistical test is of paramount importance.
- Once the correct statistical test has been identified, then the next step is to implement this test using software, mainly SPSS. Hence, inputing data into SPSS and using this software to run the statistical tests will play a key role in this study-unit.
- The correct interpretation of the SPSS output is extremely important. As this will enable the student to draw a number of conclusions on the data being analysed.
- Finally students will learn how to combine all the SPSS outputs and their interpretations to create a report which contains a thorough analysis of the data set being studied.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Identify the correct statistical tests to analyse the data set;
- Implement the statistical test or tests on SPSS;
- Interpret correctly the SPSS output and draw the correct conclusion;
- Provide a written report which contains a thorough analysis of the data set.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Correct use of SPSS;
- Learn how to write a statistical report.
