If you would like to understand better the painstaking work that goes into printing a map, then keep the evening of Friday 20 May free.
An event dedicated to explaining and showing the ‘intaglio’ printing technique will be organised by Heritage Malta in collaboration with the Malta Map Society at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta. This special event is also tied to the exhibition entitled, 'Siege Maps: Keeping Memory Safe', where four maps printed by means of the ‘intaglio’ technique are on display and which can be viewed after the brief talk and demonstration by Joseph Schirò and Jesmond Vassallo.
