The University of Malta's Department of International Relations, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malta, will be hosting a public lecture on 'EU Foreign Policy in the Sahel Region', by Ambassador Angel Losada Fernandez, EU Special Representative for the Sahel. This event will take place on Wednesday 23 November at 10:00 at the ICT Auditorium, University of Malta Msida Campus.
Mr Losada joined the Spanish diplomatic service in 1984 and served in a number of posts including Ambassador at Large for the Sahel and Special Envoy for Libya in 2014 and 2015, Ambassador of Spain to the State of Kuwait and Bahrain from 2011 to 2014, and Ambassador of Spain to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Permanent Representative of Spain to the ECOWAS Commission (Economic Community of West African States) from 2006 to 2011. From 1993 to 1996 Mr Losada was the Deputy Director General for United Nations Specialised Organisation and Development in the Directorate General for International Organisations and Conferences in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
