Between 1995-2004 Dr Geva Kleinberger worked with the late Prof. Rafi Talmon on two large projects on Palestinian dialects in Northern Israel, financed first by the GIF (German-Israeli Foundation) and then by the ISF (Israel Science Foundation). In recent years, Prof. Geva Kleinberger has researched Judaeo-Arabic dialects, particularly the Jewish dialects in Galilee (Haifa, Safed, Peqi'in and Tiberias). He is also carrying out research on the Jewish dialects of India, Myanmar, and Singapore as well as research on the Arabic dialects of the Jews of China. He has also conducted fieldwork connected to the Arabic dialects of the Jews of Sudan. Among his many scholarly publications, one finds a grammar of the Palestinian Arabic dialect of Haifa.
