The UM Library is celebrating International Open Access Week!
Monday, 23 October, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 hrs at the Main Library Building, Periodicals Department
A guest speaker, Mr Antonio Peteira from MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute) will deliver a presentation on MDPI’s publishing offer, differences between Open Access and traditional publishing, peer-review process and MDPI free services. MDPI is an academic Open Access publisher that publishes various peer-reviewed scientific electronic journals.
Wednesday, 25 October, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 at IT Services Building, TR003
Ms Kaja Slonina from the UM Library will explain the idea behind the UM Library Open Science Department, the services offered, as well as, the benefits of Open Access and of having the publications deposited in the UM Institutional Repository, OAR@UoM. Afterwards, Mr Ryan Scicluna from the UM Library will provide a hands-on session on how to deposit the research papers in OAR@UoM.
Friday, 27 October, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 at IT Services Building, TR003
Pro-Rector for International Development & Quality Assurance, Prof. Godfrey Baldacchino will deliver introductory remarks about the benefits of having a Google Scholar Profile. Afterwards, Mr Martin Lochman from the UM Library will provide a hands-on session on how to create a Google Scholar Profile and will also present some useful tips on how to properly maintain the Google Scholar profile. The Google Scholar Profile together with the uploading of the research papers in OAR@UoM will support in enhancing the ranking of the University.
