Professor Michael O’Neill will be delivering a Public Lecture on ‘Dante and the English Romantics’ in the Faculty of Arts Library on Tuesday 25 April at 18:00. He is a guest of the Institute of Anglo-Italian Studies, in close collaboration with the Departments of English and Italian at the University of Malta.
Professor O’Neill is Professor of English at the University of Durham where he was formerly Head of the Department of English and Director of the Institute of Advanced Studies. He is a renowned scholar and an authority on Romantic Literature and has published extensively in this field. He has recently edited the Cambridge History of English Poetry and the Oxford Handbook of Percy Bysshe Shelley. He is an established poet in his own right and has been awarded the Chalmondeley Award for Poetry.
