The University of Malta’s Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA) has recently launched the FEMA – Business FORUM. The aims are firstly to ensure better active collaboration on various fronts between FEMA staff and industry; secondly, to develop a platform that will ensure that the academic efforts of FEMA are in sync with those of industry in terms of human capital and industrial needs of the future; thirdly, to offer an opportunity to stakeholders 'to share in the life' of FEMA and its students; and finally, to create an outreach network platform between the different members constituting the platform.
During the inauguration event, which took place on Tuesday 8 November 2016, Professor Frank Bezzina, Dean, Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy iterated that the FORUM was a means to ensure that the Programmes and the research conducted by FEMA remained relevant. Other speakers at the event were Professor Tanya Sammut-Bonnici, Pro-Rector, Strategic Planning and Enterprise, and Mr Shaun Cassar from ASCS (FEMA's Student Association).
The Forum will be co-ordinated by a working committee composed of Dr Vincent Cassar, Dr Marcus Schuetz, Professor Joseph Falzon, Mr Peter J. Baldacchino, Dr Simon Grima, Dr Nathaniel Massa, Ms Miriam Pocock and two representatives from ASCS.
FEMA would like to show its appreciation to James Caterers for sponsoring the event's reception.
