As part of the programme of continued academic engagement at the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA), Professor Per Lind of Uppsala University (Sweden) delivered a lecture on Development Theories and Studies to academic staff at FEMA on 23 November.
A number academics from FEMA together with PhD students participated at the lecture that dealt with a range of economic development theories and how these theories have evolved over the past decades, making the case for economic development measurement involving multi-dimensional approaches such as human capital and technological development. The lecture stimulated various exchanges between the FEMA participants and Prof. Lind.
Prof. Lind is Professor in Industrial Development with over thirty years' experience in private sector development in various institutions including the United Nations. His research in small business development spans Africa, Asia and Latin America, involving prominent model methodologies in a range of cultural contexts. More recently, he led a research team in the Baltic region on university-industry collaboration.
