Hosting 80 participants from 14 different countries, the Q-Safe Conference will be held on the Greek Island of Syros from 10 to 12 April 2017.
The aim of this conference, which is hosted by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and coordinated by the University of Malta, is to highlight the added value of quantitative tools for advancing research in the area of predictive modelling, risk assessment and Life Cycle Assessment.
High-quality scientific presentation sessions will deal with the use of simulation tools and their application in food and bio-industries, food technologies, food sciences and food management (traceability, food safety) will also be presented. To add to the quality of the conference, representatives of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will address the challenges of communicating risks and the importance of predictive microbiology in food safety.

Q-Safe is a consortium of eight partners (seven academic and one industrial) created in 2014. It is coordinated by the University of Malta (Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Food Studies and Environmental Health) and funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.
The overall aim of this strategic partnership was to train early stage researchers in the area of predictive modelling, risk assessment and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) through a multilateral trans-European cooperation, and to foster both institutional collaboration and innovative problem based learning initiatives.
