Dr Timmy Gambin gave a presentation during the workshop 'Copernicus for Cultural Heritage' held in Brussels in April.
Copernicus, a European Union Programme aims to develop European information services based on satellite Earth Observation and in situ (non-space) data. The workshop was aimed at assessing the potential of Copernicus in support of cultural heritage preservation and management, and to provide inputs for further research and/or operational implementation.
Dr Timmy Gambin, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Classics and Archaeology, delivered a talk entitled 'Underwater Cultural Heritage: The Four Ms approach’. The main thrust of his talk was how the Copernicus Programme can be utilised for the monitoring of underwater sites.
