On behalf of the Centre for Resilience and Socio-Emotional Health, Professor Carmel Cefai presented a lifetime achievement award for the wellbeing of children and young people to Emeritus Professor Dan Olweus during the 6th ENSEC Conference in Sweden, 7-9 June 2017. Dan Olweus is the founding father of research on bullying and one of the leading experts in the world on the prevention of bullying.
His books have been published in more than 20 different languages across the world, and the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program has been implemented in 500 primary and secondary schools in Norway alone; it is also very popular in the US. Dan Olweus was one of the keynote speakers during the 6th ENSEC Conference organised by the University of Orebro in collaboration with ENSEC network, focused on the theme ‘Diversity’. During the conference, the ENSEC network also celebrated its tenth anniversary since its establishment in 2007 when the first conference was held in Malta.
