The Institute of Linguistics and the Department for Inclusion and Access to Learning would like to invite interested parties to take part in a study that forms part of C.O.N.T.A.C.T., an EU-funded project (covering Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Spain and the UK) that aims to study the general public’s attitude towards xenophobia and homophobia. In the first instance, all participants have to do is fill out a questionnaire, and give their opinion regarding particular comments that have been been published online. This should not take more than 15-20 minutes.
In order to take part in the survey in English go to:
Once participants have completed the questionnaire, they will also be given the chance to take part in a short follow-up interview, which should again not take more than 30 minutes. This task is completely voluntary and participants will not have to take part in it, unless they explicitly express their willingness to do so. During the interview they will not be asked to justify their own responses to the questionnaire, but rather comment on the general collective results obtained through it.
Please note, that whether participants opt to take part in the survey alone, or both the survey and the interview, anonymity and confidentiality are guaranteed in accordance with the University’s Ethics policy. In this respect, all information collected will be treated as strictly confidential, and anonymity will be ensured in the collection, storage and publication of the research material. In the event that a participant would like to withdraw from the study at any time, they may do so without providing any reason or explanation.
For further information about this study, feel free to contact the research officer Ms Rebecca Vella or the project coordinator Stavros Assimakopoulos.
Your participation is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
