Artistic director to give credit course at University Professor Roberto Prandin, Direttore artistico of Settimane Musicali di Lugano, who was in Malta last September, will be conducting a series of 14 lectures on Artistic Management and the role of the Artistic Director between 12 April and 23 May 1999, valid for 1 credit. Interested students, particularly music and theatre students, may apply for this credit (MUS204a) along with those they chose for their second semester. This credit may also be taken as an optional credit in any other course. Lectures will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 16.00 and 17.00. Venue will be announced later. All lectures will be in Italian.

Professor Prandin has twenty years experience in this field. The course will provide the know-how required for the successful running of any kind of medium-sized artistic organisation be it musical, acting, a ballet company, even museums and exhibition centres. Apart from discussing the methodology involved, such contemporary problems as funding will also be dealt with.
