Professor Barry Smith to visit Department of History Professor Barry Smith from the State University of New York at Buffalo will be visiting the Department of History next week to give a series of lectures on Philosophy, Politics and History. These interdisciplinary lectures will provide an historical introduction to political philosophy with special reference to economic, geographic, legal and military factors determining the evolution of the modern nation state concept. Lectures will be between 10:00 and 12:00 Monday through Friday except Tuesday, when he is lecturing at 09:00.

Professor Smith will also be addressing The Philosophy Society on Thursday, 11 March at 19:00, Francis Ebejer Hall, Lecture Centre. Entrance from Carpark 2. His talk will be entitled: What's all the rage about Postmodernism? Interested members of the general public are cordially invited to attend.
