Maltese Educationalists at Leipzig Conference Dr Christopher Bezzina, Dr Paul Pace and Dr Mark G. Borg from the Faculty of Education attended the 24th Annual Conference of the Association of Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE) held at the University of Leipzig, Germany, from 30 August to 5 September. The Faculty of  Education is an active member of the Association.

Dr Bezzina presented three papers entitled 'University preparation ofschool heads in Malta', 'Developing a model of professional development for 21st Century schools in Malta' and 'The non-verbal behaviour of Maltese student teachers'.

Dr Pace presented a paper entitled 'Promoting environmental education in the classroom through electronic media'.

The presented papers were part of the on-going work of a number of research and development centres focussing on specific themes/topics.

Dr Borg, the  new Dean of the Faculty of Education, headed the Maltese delegation at the ATEE General Assembly held on Saturday 4th September.  The Faculty of Education was invited to consider placing a bid to organise the ATEE Annual Conference in Malta in 2003. 30 August, 1999
