The Theatricality of Baroque Architecture Ms Annabelle Vassallo, M.A., will speak on Wednesday 16 February during the Work in Progress Seminars, at the Museum of Archaeology, Valletta, at 5.30pm. Drinks will be served, and the public is welcome. Her topic is The Theatricality of Maltese Baroque Architecture. Theatre reached a high point during the Baroque age. Theatre permeated every aspect of life. Ms. Vassallo will look at the sources of the Baroque, and examine typical Maltese Baroque spaces in the light of their theatricality. She will explore how Baroque architects strove to awe and subjugate the spectator.
