Biology Symposium 2000 The Department of Biology of the University of Malta will be organising a one-day SYMPOSIUM at John Borg Hall (formerly Science Lecture Theatre), University of Malta, Msida on Saturday 2nd December 2000 at 09.00 a.m.

The Symposium, which has the support of the Environment Protection Department, should be of interest to:

  • Personnel from Government Departments and other bodies responsible for planning, protection and management of our environment resources;
  • Industrialists;
  • Environmentalists;
  • Teachers of Biology, Environmental Science and System of Knowledge;
  • Students of Biology at secondary, post secondary and University levels.

  • During the Symposium the current B.Sc. and M.Sc. garlands of the Department will be making brief presentations of the work they have carried out in connection with their Final Year electives or dissertation. Collectively, these presentations provide an overview of the wide range of topics receiving particular attention by the Department, which this year include: pollution studies, marine ecology, plant biochemistry and micropropagation, acquaculture and conservation biology.
