Special Meeting for Mathematics Teachers January 2000

The Mathematical Society is holding a series of special meeting for mathematics teachers, especially those who teach in secondary schools.

On November 23, the first teacher meeting for secondary mathematics teachers was held at Verdala International School.
Good ideas were discussed, and it was a good first step in forming what we hope will be a forum for professional support and development.

The next Teacher Meeting will be held in Room 10 at Verdala International School, Fort Pembroke, St. Andrew's on Tuesday, January 18 at 6:30 pm. Please bring a 5-10 minute introductory activity or "filler" lesson to share.  Something effective that you have used to grab your students' attention, or something that you have used to fill those last 5 minutes of class. Alternatively, it could be an idea that you have always wanted to try, but you just have not had the "guinea pigs" to try it on. Coffee and biscuits will be served - please join us! For further details please contact Ms. Jill Kirkstadt on tel. no. 374285.
