Gorg Pisani Exhibition at the University of Malta Library
An exhibition marking the first anniversary from the demise of Gozitan
poet, dramatist and novelist Gorg Pisani (1909-1999) will be inaugurated
next Tuesday 22nd February 2000 at 11.30 a.m. at the University of Malta
Library. The exhibition will cover manuscript works and books penned by
Gorg Pisani, critical evaluations of his work, certificates, press cuttings
and memorabilia of the writer's career and family life. The inauguration
ceremony will be presided by University Rector Professor Roger Ellul Micallef
and will include readings from Pisani's poems, an evaluation of his literary
merits by Mr Mario Cassar lecturer in Maltese at the Junior College, and
recollections by the poet's son Notary Dr Paul Pisani. The exhibition is
being organised in collaboration with the poet's relatives and the Ghaqda
tal-Malti (Universita') and will be open until the end of April during
