Credit in Artistic Management For the third year running, Professor Roberto Prandin, Direttore artistico di Settimane Musicali di Lugano, will be conducting a credit on Artistic Management for students of the Mediterranean Institute's Music Studies Programme.  Starting in the second semester on Thursday, 8 February 2001, this third credit on the subject will focus on seasonal programme planning, previous credits having focussed on artistic management in general and on marketing the artistic enterprise. The lecturer will concentrate on the analysis of the technique and skills involved in orchestral management using the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi  as a typical example of musical/artistic management. Problems such as the relationship between conductor and orchestra, financial strategies and seasonal programming will be the focal points of the lectures which will be held in Rm. 124, Mediterranean Institute at 16:00 on Thursdays. Interested members of the general public are cordially invited to attend.

In April, Professor Prandin will lecture on Gioacchino Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia.  Further details will be announced later.  See website at: http://www.um.edu.mt/news/prandin3.html
