Display of Books & Manuscripts of Dun Gorg Preca at the University of Malta Library The University of Malta Library will be hosting an exhibition of books and manuscripts by Dun Gorg Preca (1880 - 1962) founder of the Society of Catholic Doctrine (MUSEUM) who will be beatified by his Holiness the Pope during his coming visit to Malta. Dun Gorg was a prolific writer who penned over one hundred and forty works of intense spiritual and literary merit. The University Library exhibition is being organised by the Society of Catholic Doctrine as part of its programme of activities to mark the beatification and dips into the Society's archives to cover a cross section of Dun Gorg's rich output in the form of books, manuscripts and ephemera spanning a good four decades of intensive activity. The exhibition focuses on a vitally important facet of the personality of Dun Gorg - namely his use of the printed medium and masterly use of the vernacular in conveying the Christian message to the worker. The exhibition will be inaugurated by University Rector Professor Roger Ellul-Micallef next Monday, 30 April 2001 at 1830hrs and will remain open during office hours until 19 May 2001.
