Laboratory Tests and Family Practice
The Malta College of Family Doctors in conjunction with the Universityís
Continuing Medical Education Committee and the Malta College of Pathologists
will shortly be organising its first meeting for the year. The theme of
the Winter Continuing Professional Development Meeting is to be Laboratory
Tests and Family Practice. This is to be held between 24 and 26 January
2001 at 8.30 pm in the Conference Hall, Medical School, G'Mangia, sponsored
by Vivian Healthcare. In the course of the meeting, Dr Alex
Aquilina will discuss Anaemias, Dr Gerald Buhagiar will elaborate on Hypothyroidism
and Deranged liver function in two separate lectures, while Dr James DeGaetano
will talk on Cytology. During the Friday session, Dr Bridget Ellul will
discuss Tumour Markers and Screening and Dr. Paul Caruana will deal with
the indicators which necessitate asking for a culture. The Malta College
of Family Doctors will accredit participation. All medical practitioners
and senior medical students are cordially invited.
