Short Course in Fundamentals of Office Computing The University of Malta Gozo Centre will be organising a short course in Fundamentals of Office Computing. Lectures will be held on Saturdays between 21st July and 11th August 2001.

The course is intended as a "computing made easy" tutorial, with the view of familiarizing participants with the basic features and functionality of the Microsoft Office suite. Special attention will be given to the deployment of such automation tools as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, in the development of every day home and office solutions, exhibited by a number of step-by-step exercises being used as case scenarios.

The themes of the course are:

  • Introductory computing, Microsoft Windows and the Office suite
  • Basic document management with Microsoft Word
  • Developing results with Microsoft Word: formatting documents
  • Developing results with Microsoft Word: templates and macros
  • Basic data manipulation with Microsoft Excel
  • Deploying solutions with Excel formulae and graphs
  • Professional presentations using Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Multiple application demo, object liking and embedding
