The Rector, Professor Roger Ellul-Micallef, and the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Anthony J. Frendo, recently presented awards to students on the Dean's List.  This year, five students, two from the Gozo Centre and three from the main campus, who successfully completed the first part of their BA/BA(Hons) programme received recognition for their academic excellence.

 The students were: Caroline Calleja (Music Studies (Hons)/Mathematics); Elisabeth Conrad (Geography (Hons)/Communications); Mario Frendo (Music Studies/Theatre Studies) and from the Gozo Centre: Carmen Saliba (Economics/Sociology) and Gillian Martin (Philosophy/Sociology).  Each student was presented with a book voucher and one student who was chosen by lot received a cheque for Lm200 towards research.  The lucky student was Mrs Gillian Martin.  The awards were sponsored by the Bank of Valletta, which was represented by the branch manager of BoV on Campus, Mrs Emily Grech.

 In their brief introductory remarks, both Professor Ellul-Micallef and Professor Frendo underscored the importance of ongoing education.  The Faculty of Arts would like to publicly thank BoV for sponsoring the event.
