Un personnage en quête d'argent: l'abbé Boyer Dr Carmen Depasquale, Head of the Department of French has read  a paper entitled Un personnage en quête díargent: líabbé Boyer at an international and interdisciplinary colloquium, Argent et literature, XVII e- XVIIIe siècles held at the Université Paris X ­ Nanterre between the 12 and 14 December 2002.  In her paper, she outlined Abbé Boyerís adventures in Guyana, Rome and Malta and commented on a manuscript of the National Library of Malta authored by him.  Her paper will be published in the proceedings of the colloquium in 2003.  Dr Depasquale was also invited to give a lecture at the Université François Rabelais, Tours within the programme of studies of students preparing for the D.E.A. (M.Phil) degree.  Her lecture within the theme líHistoire du Livre was entitled Une littérature française de Malte au XVIIIe siècle.
