A Chinese delegation led by the President of the Chinese Peopleís Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Mr Chen Haosu, paid a courtesy call on the Rector of the University, Professor Roger Ellul-Micallef.

The delegation was invited to Malta by the Malta China Friendship Society on the occasion of the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malta.

Professor Ellul-Micallef and Mr. Chen Haosu discussed ways in which the University could attract more Chinese students to Malta.  After the meeting, Mr. Chen Haosu went on campus to meet a large number of Chinese students who are currently reading for a degree or participating in the Foundation Course at the University of Malta.  Present for the meeting were the President of the Malta China Friendship Society, former M.P. Mr. Reno Calleja and Madame He, the Charge DíAffairs ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Malta.
