Accreditation of Health & Safety University Diploma

Ms Hazel Harvey, Head of Professional Affairs at the UK-based Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), is in Malta to address the 80 past and present students of the Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, run since 1997 at the University of Malta by the Workers' Participation Development Centre, with the kind support of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA). The WPDC has secured accreditation of this diploma from IOSH; so, with enough field experience, successful diploma students can now qualify for IOSH corporate membership and its associated benefits.

Founded in 1945, IOSH is Europe's leading body for individuals with a professional involvement in occupational safety and health. A non-profit making organisation, IOSH represents well over 25,000 individual members working across the full spectrum of industry and commerce including public corporations, multinational giants and small enterprises.

Ms Harvey will address the present 40 OHS diploma students in Hall B1, Gateway Building, on Tuesday 1st October 2002 at 3pm. She will be accompanied by WPDC Director, Prof. Godfrey Baldacchino.
