The University Gozo Centre -
from Vision to Reality
The Gozo Centre is ten years old. The  Centre was set up in 1992, following initiatives taken by the Hon. Anton Tabone and Rev. Professor Peter Serracino Inglott. It main objectives are to foster tertiary education in Gozo, principally by assisting University faculties and institutes to offer courses on the Island, to look after the welfare of Gozitan students and to conduct research on Gozitan affairs. Since its establishment, about 200 students have obtained University degrees, diplomas or certificates after following a course at the Centre.

To mark the occasion, the Centre has organised a series of events between August 23 and August 25 and issued a book which gives an account of developments within the Centre since 1992. The book, edited by Professor Maurice Cauchi, also contains the views  of many persons who were instrumental in the setting up and ongoing development of the Centre, including Professor Roger Ellul Micallef, Professor Lino Briguglio, Hon Giovanna Debono, Hon. Anton Tabone and Professor Peter Serracino Inglott. The book also carries a number of articles by lecturers, students and members of the Board of the Centre.
