
Appointment
of Adjunct Associate Professors

Robert N. Farrugia and
Charles E. Yousif both of the Institute for Energy Technology have recently
been accorded the honorary title of Adjunct Associate Professors in the
Department of Integrated Science and Technology of James Madison University,
Virginia, U.S.A., in recognition of their contributions towards the energy
chapter of JMU.
Ing. Farrugia joined the College of Integrated Science & Technology (CISAT) of James Madison as a Fulbright Scholar in 2002. This scholarship was administered by the Council for International Exchange on behalf of the US Department of State. In this capacity he applied his expertise in wind and renewable energy technology applications to contribute to a number of initiatives and applied research projects currently underway at CISAT. He was also active in mentoring a number of students on their final year wind projects and presented lectures focusing on specialized topics. Mr Yousif contributed by lecturing during the spring semester of 1999 and has also contributed in the creation of a Solar Energy course GSCI104A for the Geographic Information Systems Department at CISAT. He has also supervised students in their final-year projects. Ing. Farrugia and Yousif have also contributed to a number of energy-related projects in the annual Summer Abroad projects hosted in Malta; an event that has found increasing recognition by students attending James Madison University and beyond. Both have also contributed to a number of joint scientific publications and books with faculty members of the said institution. 17 April 2003 |
