Short Courses at the University Gozo Centre

SHORT COURSES IN:

The University of Malta Gozo Centre will be organising the following three short courses, during June and July 2003.

'SAGE- THE ACCOUNTING PACKAGE'
The aim of the course is to provide hands-on training on the leading accounting package, namely SAGE. The course should be beneficial to all persons who wish to use SAGE to keep proper books of account.  The course has been designed to show participants the procedure involved in converting from a manual to a computerised accounting system. Those who aspire to take up clerical employment within an accounting environment can also benefit.

The course will be spread over 8 weekends, from Friday 6th June to Saturday 26th July 2003. There will be two sessions every weekend: Friday sessions from 6.00p.m. to 8.00p.m. and Saturday sessions from 9.00a.m. to 11.00a.m. The course fee is Lm35 per person.

'PRINCIPLES OF INDUSTRIAL HYDRAULICS'
The course will present a theoretical insight into the industrial hydraulics that power both mobile equipment as well as fixed plant. It presents an overview of the principles of system operation and maintenance. It will complement the practical knowledge with a theoretical know-how on the operations of hydraulic systems.

Lectures will be given by Ing. Michael Cassar  B.Mech.Eng.(Hons).  The course will be spread over 5 weekends, from Saturday 14th June to Saturday 12th July 2003.  Lecture sessions will be held on Saturdays from 9.00a.m. to 1.00p.m.  The course fee is Lm80 per person.

'FIRE ENGINEERING'
The course is intended for safety officers, firemen, supervisors, security people and shopkeepers and other personnel who are themselves, and their wares, exposed to fire hazards.

Lectures will be given by Ing. Fabio Stivala. B.Mech. Eng. (Hons), AIFireE, AISPE.  The course will be spread over 5 weekends, from Saturday 14th June to Saturday 12th July 2003. Lecture sessions will be held on Saturdays from 9.00a.m. to 1.00p.m.  The course fee is Lm80 per person.
