Admissions 2004

The University will shortly be receiving applications from prospective students for admission to certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses commencing in October 2004. All those awaiting their supplementary examination results or overseas Boards results and University students waiting for their Final Examination results may also apply. Applications may be submitted on 21, 22, 23 and 26 July at the M. A. Vassalli Lecture Centre (Gateway Building), University of Malta, Msida and at the University Gozo Centre, Mgarr Road, Xewkija, Gozo between 8.30 am and 12.30 pm.

Applications are to be submitted against a fee of Lm10 payable prior to submission of application at HSBC in account number: 085031458051 or at Bank of Valletta in account number: 40013540847 at any of their branches in Malta and Gozo.

Together with their application, candidates are required to submit: original certificates and photocopies of all qualifications. The Matriculation Certificate (Advanced & Intermediate Levels), SEC certificates for Maltese, English Language and Mathematics and any additional Advanced Level certificates must be included; two passport size photographs; a photocopy of both sides of I.D. card; National Insurance Number and the original bank receipt or deposit slip for application fee.

Preparatory Meetings for prospective university students are to be held on 19 and 20 July 2004 in the Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta between 9.00 am and 11.00 am.

A full list of courses may be seen at the University and at the Gozo Centre or on the Web at http://www.um.edu.mt/courses/ The Information Booklet and Application Forms may be obtained from the Admissions and Records Office or the Students' Advisory Office at the University and at the Preparatory Meetings.

Late applications (except for courses where the number of students is limited and the Diploma in Public Administration course) may be submitted up to 31 August 2004 against an additional late application fee of Lm15 and thereafter at the discretion of the Faculty against an additional late application fee of Lm50. Any requests for amendments (change or transfer of course) to the original application after 26 July and up to 31 August is subject to a fee of Lm15. Requests for amendments (change or transfer of course) after 1 September will only be accepted at the discretion of the Faculty concerned against a late application fee of Lm20. The Office Hours are between 8.30 am and 12.00 Noon. Precise details will shortly be advertised.

For detailed information about Courses, Faculties and Careers prospective students may tune in to "Dis-Course" on Campus FM 103.7 on Tuesdays at 9.30 am and Wednesdays at 2.30 pm. The Students Advisory Services will answer phone-ins during the programme.
