New publication by Dr Francis Cachia
The Foundation for International Studies is pleased to announce the official
launch of Dr Francis Cachia’s latest publication 'Global Diplomacy reflected
in Malta' which will take place at the Aula Magna, The Old University Building,
Valletta on Monday, 29 March at 1800hrs.
Participating in the event will be two leading personalities who have held
the highest office in Malta namely Presidents Emeriti Vincent Tabone and
Ugo Mifsud Bonnici.
Dr Cachia' s book consists of interviews with ambassadors accredited to Malta
between 1993 and 2003 as well as pen portraits of world statesmen, reviews
of books dealing with diplomacy and reports and comments on international
relations during the past decade.
Dr Cachia was born in Valletta and received his tertiary education in Malta,
England, the United States, Italy and Germany. He holds an M.A. from Oxford
University and a Ph.D. from Bochum University. He has pursued careers at
home and abroad in diplomacy, teaching and the media. As a diplomat, he served
in Italy and Germany but his most effective diplomacy work has probably been
done in Malta; his latest publication is a good indicator of this.
In the year 2000 Dr Cachia was awarded the Order of Merit decoration by the
German President Dr. Johannes Rau.
The general public is invited to attend this event.
