Exhibition on Maltese Medicinal Herbs The University of Malta Library with the collaboration of the Lija Local Council and the Universityís Department of Maltese will be launching an exhibition on Maltese medicinal herbs at a special evening which will be held on Tuesday 19th October 2004 at 6.00pm at the University Library, with selections of Maltese folk music and a number of short papers by folklore scholar Dr. Gorg Mifsud Chircop, Lija Mayor Ms. Magda Magri Naudi, the Universityís Herbarium Director Mr. Joe Buhagiar, and folklore enthusiast Mr. Frans Farrugia.  The exhibition which will be open for public viewing during office hours until the end of November 2004, includes pressed exemplars from the Universityís Argotti herbarium collection, a selection of publications bearing on the subject, and a range of specimens of medicinal herbs collected by Mr Frans Farrugia from the south of Malta.

Both the exhibition and the evening inauguration on the 19th October 2004 are open to the general public.  Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge and bookings for group visits should be made through Ms. Maria Abdilla on telephone 2340 2316.
