Theatre Traffic

February discussion and "jamming" events.

This monthís discussion topic will be "Performance and the Digital World".  Lights on Theatre Traffic would like to question how have advances in digital technology effected theatre.  Does the so-called Digital World present new creative possibilities for the theatre-maker and the spectator? Can we experience theatre online? Does the Digital World bring with it new ways of thinking and discussing a new artistic experience?
These and other related questions will be addressed during this monthís Lights on Theatre Traffic.
The discussion will be held at the Manoel Theatre Coffee Shop on Thursday 26th  February, at 7.30 p.m.

The recordings of this series of open discussions organised by the Mediterranean Institute's Theatre Studies Programme, in collaboration with the Manoel Theatre, is currently being broadcast on Campus FM 103.7 on Mondays at 8.00 p.m. The debates aim to elicit general awareness and to address the need for exchange and
dialogue on Theatre and the Arts.

The discussion will be immediately followed by a Theatre Traffic Jams the Arts event, always at the Manoel Theatre Coffee Shop, on Sunday 29th February, at 8.00 p.m.  This monthís "jamming" session would like to invite the general public to another enjoyable evening where live music on the piano will encounter the art of  painting, puppetry and image projections.

Entrances to both sessions are free of charge. For further information contact us on 2340 2988 or send an e-mail to theatretraffic@hotmail.com
