IAESTE Malta General Conference

IAESTE is a youth organisation that exchanges traineeships for students pursuing degrees in institutes of higher learning.  IAESTE has branches in over 83 member countries, in which exchanges may occur. This is currently IAESTE Maltaís 21st year as a full member.

One of the most crucial events in the IAESTE calendar is the Annual General Conference.  This event takes place in one of the member countries each year, and in it, all traineeships are exchanged with various countries, according to the preferences of each country.

This yearsí GC was held in Cartagena, Colombia.  The two Maltese delegates representing Malta were Robert Cordina, the ex- National Secretary and Louise Camenzuli who is part of the IAESTE alumnus.  Malta will proudly be hosting next yearís General Conference at the Jerma Palace Hotel.

The organising team, which is made up of current and ex-National Committee members, has already won the support of the Malta Tourism Authority as well as AirMalta. The latter has agreed to act as official charter during the event.

IAESTE would also like to take the opportunity to thank our valid sponsors which are the Ministry of Education, Airmalta and the Malta Tourism Authority.  A special thanks also goes to Mr Ray Debono from Miller Distributors for helping us out with the presentation.
GC2006 Malta has been scheduled to take place between the 21st - 27th January 2006. IAESTE Malta is willing to collaborate with other local companies which may be interested in sponsoring this venture. The National Secretary, Ms Annemarie Mayo may be contacted by email: info@iaeste.org.mt
