Rabat mayor Mr Frank Fabri and Dr Daniel Micallef have lately presented the University Library Director Mr Anthony Mangion with a cheque for one hundred pounds in support of book purchasing in the environmental sciences.  The money was initially meant to be allocated to Dr Micallef as a first prize for his lyrics in a Council competition for a Rabat hymn, but was subsequently passed on to the Library by the said Council at the insistence of Dr Micallef.  During the presentation Mayor Mr Fabri and Dr Micallef both expressed their wish that this pioneering initiative would be emulated by all other local councils in gratitude towards our Alma Mater whose student cohort hails from and would ultimately benefit all localities of Malta and Gozo.
