Collective Creation of a Performance in Progress

After the Christmas break, Theatre Traffic resumes its series of discussions on theatre and the arts on Wednesday 12th January 2005, by focusing on how a performance can emerge from a group effort. The subject of this monthís discussion will be the performance that the Theatre Studies students will be staging in April. The aim of this session is to highlight their approaches to the text as well as to all matters relating to production, and to show this to the audience in the light of their theoretical and interdisciplinary curriculum. The students, together with our special guest, Dr Frank Camilleri, director of the performance, who lectures in Theatre Studies and also leads the group Icarus Performance Project Malta, will explain, demonstrate and amplify on the work involved in the performance that is currently being created.  The actual performance will be held on the 9th and 10th April at the MITP at 20.30.

The venue of this discussion has changed exceptionally and will be held at the MITP, St. Christopher Street, Valletta and not at the Manoel Theatre Courtyard, and will start at 19.30.

Everyone is cordially invited to attend our activities, which are free of charge.  For more information contact Dr Vicki Ann Cremonaís office on 2340 2988 or e-mail us at info@theatretraffic.org.  One can also visit our website at www.theatretraffic.org.
