Work in Progress in the Social Studies

The 9th annual seminar series, Work in Progress in the Social Studies, starts on Wednesday 9 February with Professor Hedi Bouraoui, Head of the Department of French Studies and founder of the Canada-Maghreb Centre at York University, Ontario, Canada. The title of the seminar will be The Transcultural Novel in a Post-colonial World. Prof. Bouraoui, a Tunisian, is a specialist in the literature of the Maghreb, French Canada, the Caribbean, and sub-saharan Africa. Novelist, poet, and scholar, recipient of many literary prizes in Canada, France and Tunisia, he is also Officier de L'Ordre des Palmes Academiques. Prof. Bouraoui will place experimental writing in the Maghreb and the Caribbean in the context of Globalisation and Transculturalism.

The seminar will be held on Wednesday 9 February from 18.00 to 19.30 in Room 124 Mediterranean Institute, University of Malta (opposite the University Library by the Arvid Pardo Study Area, behind HSBC on Campus; entrance from Car Park 4). The public is cordially invited.
