Digitization of Early University Registers The University Library has published a digitized facsimile on CD_ROM of the five volume manuscript registers of the Acta Academiae Melitensis covering the administration of the University for the period 1800-1945. The historical registers cover the re-foundation of the University of Malta by Sir Alexander Ball and its development under British rule up till the end of World War II, and are the only extant source for a roll of 19 th century graduates. The digitization was carried out by the University Library through a sponsorship grant by the Maltese National Commission for UNESCO and Lions Clubs zone Malta, in a bid to preserve the fragile originals and enhance their accessibility. CD-ROM copies of the Acta are available from the Library Director's office (21-310239; 2340-2316) for Lm5.00.
