University hosts Philosophers of Education

This year’s biennial conference of the International Network of Philosophers of Education (INPE) is being hosted at the University of Malta and will be held over four days between August 3 rd and 6 th. The subject of the conference, which attracts philosophers from all corners of the world, is Philosophical Perspectives onEducational Practice in the 21 st Century. The sub-themes are Educational Practice beyond Critique; Identity and Justice in Teaching and Learning; Educational Experience and the Claims of the “Knowledge Economy”; Truth and Truthfulness in Practices of Learning; Educational Theory and Practice and the Politics of Lifelong Learning.

Key-note papers will be given by Prof. David Cooper from the University of Durham, Dr Marianna Papastephanou from the University of Cyprus, and Prof. Kenneth Wain from the University of Malta. There will also be parallel paper presentations and workshop sessions. The conference will take place at the Gateway Building at the University of Malta. Registration is possible on the first day of the conference from 9.00 am onwards.
