In-service Training Course focusing on the Common Agricultural Policy An in-service training course was organised by the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment on the 2 and 3 November 2006 at the Institute of Agriculture at the University of Malta. This course was intended to make staff members of this Ministry more familiar with certain details regarding European Issues (focusing on the Common Agricultural Policy, its reform and the Maltese Perspective); EU Structures and Legislation; and the roles of key structures in the Government set up.
This course was intended to lead to a better understanding of the official templates used whenever compiling position papers in reaction to EU legislative proposals. The course was also designed to impart knowledge of certain basic and advanced office routine procedures such as filing, insertions, movements, etc.
The course was very well received, with an attendance of 50 officials who actively participated with a large number of questions after each presentation.
The close cooperation that led to the success of this event was made possible through the agreement signed in February 2005 between the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment and the University of Malta.
