Taize’ – an opportunity not to be missed! There are four places left for the trip which the University Chaplaincy is organising to Taize’, France, from the 5th to the 12th August 2007. The costs of the trip, about Lm250, make it very accessible for students.

Taize’ is a small village in France where an ecumenical community of brothers, founded by Frére Roger, welcomes young people from all over the world. It welcomes them for an unusual experience which takes them on a search for meaning in life. The young people are invited to take time to stop, ask questions and share them with other young people. They draw on sources such as the Bible, writings by Frére Roger and by taking part in workshops on various current themes such as politics, poetry and art. The place also offers a hands-on experience to those young people who are not drawn to reflection, by involving them in the running of the place: cooking, keeping the gardens and other tasks. They will be invited to join the community in the unmistakable prayers of Taize’ marked by the chants which are typical of the place, such as ‘Ubi Caritas’.

For more information visit the website of Taize’ on www.taize.fr and register by sending your details to chaplaincy@um.edu.mt or Chaplaincy, University of Malta, Msida (Tel. no. 2340 2341) by the 2nd of July.
