Dr Pamela Portelli obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Malta in 1998. She completed a post-graduate diploma in psychology with the Open University between 2006-2008. Dr Portelli read for an MSc in Health Psychology at City University London between 2009 and 2010. She worked with the NHS in Islington, London in smoking cessation. She also worked with NHS Camden Public Health Department as a Health Trainer. She then went on to complete her Doctoral degree between 2011-2016, specializing in mental health, addictions and chronic pain. Dr Portelli is a warranted psychologist currently working at the Gozo General Hospital and Mount Carmel Hopsital. She works with individuals experiencing severe mental health problems, dual diagnosis patients and individuals suffering from chronic illness. Her main interests are addictions, ehealth, pain management, behaviour change interventions and trauma. Currently Dr Portelli is the co-ordinator for the Master in Health Psychology at the University of Malta.
